Krystal Bland’s Success Story – A Heart Warming Tale

Yesterday, Saturday April 13th, was beachbody’s second quarterly Super Saturday Event! Every three months, coaches gather together in groups all over the country and share stories, successes, trials, and triumphs! In addition, beachbody headquarters provides us with a video to encourage us to keep helping people and end the trend of obesity! This time, part of that video highlighted Krystal Bland. This is her story.

Passover Meal Planning and Recipes

I’m working on a list of things that I can eat for Passover. For the first time in my adult life, I am actually completely unprepared for Passover. This week I have my first SHELF exam on Wednesday, an exam on Friday, and an entire week of St. Baldrick’s events. Sadly, I really just forgot about Passover. And then suddenly it was here.
In any case, I did get a brisket in the oven tonight. And put together a list of things that I could potentially make/eat this week.
In case you …

Friday’s Car Beating… My Poor Honda!

My poor car! On Friday night, my car took a bit of a beating
I was parked in a residential area, in front of a friend’s home. And about 11:30 – we hear this really loud noise. I was actually in the midst of telling my friends about how my brother’s car was sabotaged (a story for another day perhaps).
Anyways – out we go and low and behold – someone has hit my car! Luckily, the girl stuck around. She called her mother and the police came to file …

Motivation: How do You find the Motivation to be Healthy?

Motivation
Motivation is a hard thing to come by for anyone. And I am certainly no exception. Medical school has been an incredible journey for me — full of wonderful experiences but also full stress at levels I have never previously experienced. Thankfully, I have my husband – he is my rock. He motivates me, encourages me, and supports me to keep driving through. I would not have made through school this far without him.
However, I have hit an all-time high level of anxiety with the impending national board exam that …

Oscars Recap: Who Wore What

I decided to write a recap of the Oscars this morning, probably because it was the first Academy Awards that I have actually watched from start to finish ever in my life.
But first, I want to start by talking about body image. How you perceive yourself is really key in your ability to get healthy. People who hate their bodies, have a harder time adapting healthy changes then those who love their bodies. So it is really important that people learn to love their bodies. Being healthy is NOT about …

Looking ahead to the Oscars 2013

Are you a fan of the Oscars (ie the Academy Awards)? To be honest, I can’t say they are something I really think about, at least not right up until the week that they air. But I do love to watch the all the stars strut their amazing dresses down the red carpet!
AND? this year I have actually seen some of the nominees, not many, but some. Anyways, as uncultured as I am, I do enjoy the Oscars and thought I would take a step away from my generally health …

5 Ways to Battle the Common Cold Virus

The cold virus!

What do people think of the cold virus?
Oh man, this conversation ACTUALLY occurred on facebook yesterday. Since laughter is really good for you, I thought I would share some laughter with all of you!

my friend: Cold Germs, you are NOT welcome here! Get out, get out, get OUT!
her friend: little fact… put a 1/2 or a quarter of an onion next to your bed. The onion will draw out your toxins and in the morning it will be BLACK!
my husband would like to add that it also works …

My Dream Board – Dream it! Live it! Achieve it!

A bunch of my fellow beachbody coaches are making a dream board to start of the new year. Dream boards are essentially visual representations of everything you hope to accomplish in the new year. I used microsoft publisher to make highlight my goals for 2013 and I wanted to share it with you! Make yourself a dream board and share it with me!

Age 30 Bucketlist: 101 things to do

My dad found this today and emailed it to me. This girl made an age 30 bucketlist, with a twist. Instead of just 30 items to do before 30, as I have so often seen these — She made a list of 101 things to do in the 1001 days before her 30th birthday. Intriguing, right? I mean lots of people make a bucketlist to do before they die, but that seems to final to me. I kinda like the idea of making these periodically throughout your life time. See how far you can come in a shorter period of time. I had every intention of make a 30 item bucketlist before age 30th – but 101 things? Gasp – this is kinda exciting!
