5 Ways to Battle the Common Cold Virus

The cold virus!

What do people think of the cold virus?
Oh man, this conversation ACTUALLY occurred on facebook yesterday. Since laughter is really good for you, I thought I would share some laughter with all of you!

my friend: Cold Germs, you are NOT welcome here! Get out, get out, get OUT!
her friend: little fact… put a 1/2 or a quarter of an onion next to your bed. The onion will draw out your toxins and in the morning it will be BLACK!
my husband would like to add that it also works …

Quinoa with Veggies

Oh man I LOVE quinoa! And it is always an added bonus that it is GOOD for you. Quinoa is about 14% complete protein – meaning it contains all 9 of the amino acids. And its easy to find – I bought mine at walmart. But in fact, a quick search …

A Little Inspiration: Insanity from a WHEELCHAIR!

Mary B completed Insanity from a WHEELCHAIR! And this past Saturday, she was the winner of the daily Beachbody Challenge $500. Her story is truly inspirational! I can’t believe that someone can do any of Insanity from a wheelchair. I hope I can motivate my patients some day to push themselves this hard. I am incredibly moved by this lady’s success!

“I was born with spina bifida, a birth defect that affects the spine, and left me paralyzed in a wheelchair. For most of my life I did physical therapy and was …

Shakeology Cleanse with Strawberry Shakeology: Recipe 1

My husband and I decided to do a three day shakeology cleanse starting today. The way that it works is really quite simple. Each day you have three shakeology smoothies and 1 chicken salad at dinner time. So everything you eat for the day is natural and there is no dairy or nuts. Because the shakeology cleanse allows you to have fruit…

Reviewing My February Goals and Looking Ahead to March!

Back on February 2nd, I wrote down a series of goals that I hoped to accomplish the in the month of February. Some of them were done easily, others still have some room to improve. But either way, I did make steps towards all of these changes and am quite satisfied with where I am today.
I split my goals into two categories: Nutrition & Exercise.
Nutrition (FEBRUARY):

I will eat a minimum of 1200 calories a day that are not from candy, chips, crackers, or soda. I have actually been struggling to …

Starting on a Journey with Les Mills Pump

Have you seen the movie Anastasia?
The kids version I mean. Random, but when I started writing this journal entry, a song from that movie jumped into my head:
We were strangers, startin out on a journey
Never dreamin’ what we’d have to go through
Now here we are, and Im suddenly standin’
At the beginning with you
Anyways – doesn’t have much to do with workouts – but I am indeed starting out on a journey with a new workout program. One I had literally been counting down the days to its arrival. And Friday- …
