Interval Training on My Run!

I am incorporating runs into my Turbo Fire workouts!
And today, I ran intervals for the first time EVER! Honestly? It was much harder than I anticipated it would be. I figured with all the walking in there that things would be easier. but that was NOT the case. Maybe because I really ran as fast as I possibly could on those short ones (30 seconds and 1 minute runs). By the time I got to the three minute one, it was all I could do to just keep running! And …

Getting a Move On MONDAY!

Yesterday’s workout was the Turbo Fire 45 video. Which happens to be my absolute favorite. It was the first time I got to do that video as part of the 90 day program that I started last weekend. But I had done it previously when I did Turbo Fire all the way through in 2011. I had forgotten just how much fun it is!
Sadly the workout though was super difficult! I had to even take extra water breaks! I am just so crazily out of shape! I look forward to …

Keeping up with workouts

I started Turbo Fire on March 10th, as planned. And it went okay. I had been really sick on Saturday and then sunday I just had no energy. Monday, Day 2 – was supposed to be HIT 15. But I didnt get home until 9:30 pm and then I just had so much studying to do – …

Glycemic Index Series: Glycemic Index and Acne

I decided to do a series of articles about the Glycemic Index. I have written one prior article on the topic entitled: Why we Crave Food: Insulin and the Glycemic Index. — Now, for the month of March, I will post an article on this topic every Friday.
What is the Glycemic Index?
First, I went to spend a brief moment explaining the Glycemic Index (GI). The glycemic index is just a method for classifying carbohydrates into categories based on their effect on your blood sugar. It ranges from 0 to 100. …
