Crossfit and Insanity? Danger Will Robinson!
Woke up this morning and could hardly move. kept crawling back in bed. I am SO incredibly sore. Which of course, means that I had quite a successful workout yesterday.
Last time crossfit training at the gym was hard (READ my description of that workout) but was pretty much all strength training, so when my hubby asked me to do Insanity with him yesterday, before crossfit, I of course agreed. I only did 22 minutes of it before I had to take off, but it felt like a nice warm up.
Little did I know – that Crossfit training would not only be excruciatingly painful strength training work but also incorporate about 1.75 miles worth of running into it. We started with a series that included 150 squats holding a bar with weights on it straight up above the head, 150 tricep push ups, and 8 labs around the track. I think that 12 laps around this particular track is a mile, so that would be 3/4 of a mile.
Our second series included 100 ball slams with medicine balls, 100 regular push ups, 100 sit ups, and an additional 14 laps around the track. Of course I did ALL of these push ups on my knees. Did I mention I have very limited shoulder strength?
According to my Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor – I burned 189 calories doing 22 minutes of Insanity and then 486 calories doing 51 minutes of crossfit. For a grand total of 73 minutes and 675 calories. It was quite a day.
I think today I am gonna take the day off. Take a bubble bath. Relax a little bit. Maybe incorporate the 50 minute stretch from Turbo Fire if time permits.
Did you workout yesterday? Do you have plans to workout today? What about tomorrow?
