Looking for a Recipe for Homemade Salsa?
I love chips and salsa
I could eat them everyday, and in fact, I probably DO eat chips and salsa a few times every week. as long as you limit yourself, chips and salsa are really not too bad for you!
Healthy tip? Choose a bag of chips with the least amount of ingredients and place the desired number of servings on a plate. Do NOT eat chips directly out of the bag.
I stumbled upon this salsa recipe sometime last week, I purchased the ingredients last weekend, and finally got around to making the salsa last night. A friend and I decided it would be the perfect addition to Revenge, a new show on ABC. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should definitely check it out! I am totally and completely hooked.
But back to the salsa:
Chili’s Copycat Salsa Recipe:
(Recipe from Deals to Meals)
2 cans (14.5 oz each) whole tomatoes, drained
1 small (4 oz) can diced or whole jalapenos (not pickled)–about 4-5 jalapenos (or less if you don’t like a lot of spice)
1/4 c. yellow onion, cut into quarters (you can also use dried minced onion)
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 to 1 tsp. salt (depending on how much you prefer)
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. lime juice
Place all of the ingredients together into a food processor or blender and puree until smooth. Serve with tortilla chips.
